Breakfast Lab

Today in Foods we had our Breakfast Lab. Two groups make German Pancakes, two groups made buttermilk waffles, two groups made Crepes, and one group made Stuffed French Toast. The food turned out pretty good. It looked yummy and the students are starting to work really well in the lab.

Slacker Teacher

I have been so busy lately I haven't update what has been happening in class. I resolve to do better on posting projects and activities done in class. The Foods class made cookies late last week- we are doing our breakfast lab tomorrow, so I will post more tomorrow. Here is a pic of the results from the cookies. Each lab group made a different kind of cookie. These are the peanut butter and the pumpkin chocolate chip. YUM!

Thunder Lab

Today in Foods we had another lab. The students made Thunder Juice (Orange Julius) and Thunder Twists (Pretzels). Here's one groups' results:

Foods First Lab

Today in Foods we had our first lab. We made Chocolate Chewies (more commonly known as no-bake cookies). So far, so good! My students are the best. No major trauma. They did great and cleaned the lab up really well. This group won the class review game, so their prize was to have a Kool-aid beverage with their lab. Yea for you guys! Yum!

Fashion Capital Games

Today in Fashion students learned about the 5 fashion capitals of the world. Last time, in groups, they created games to play and learn about the capitals. Today they played them. One group made a bingo game they called "Style". Another group made a game using the format of Twister. What fun ideas!!

Student Council

As the new advisor for the DHMS student council I am going to be posting occasionally on stuff we do. Yesterday I met with my new coucil for the first time this school year. I put together binders with useful information in them for the council to use. The binders were a solid black, so I got some vinyl decals for them to decorate/design their individual binders with.
We got a lot done at our meeting. I am looking forward to working with these students- they are the best!
