Bubble Bread

Today in Foods we learned about how microwaves worked. So then we had to practice!! We made bubble bread!!

They are great! So far they have been lots of fun!! Mrs. Barnum's homeroom is the best!!

Salsa!!

Today in Foods we made fresh salsa!! YUM!! My room smells like cilantro and garlic!! The students did a great job and no one cut themselves on our very dull knives so I consider it a successful lab.

Chocolate Chewies

Today we had our first mini lab in Foods!! No-Bake Cookies called Chocolate Chewies. Students had to do some math in order to figure out the quantity of the ingredients. Students did a great job considering they didn't have any direction on how to do a lab. I was very impressed!! After the mini lab we talked about lab management and expectations. I am looking forward to a great semester!!

Pillowcases and Embriodery

The FACS classes have been working on their pillowcases!! It is fun to see all the different prints of fabrics and the confidence of students build as they work on their projects.

 These girls just finished embroidering their names on their pillowcases... so cool!!

Sergers!

In FACS Exploration we have started working in the Clothing lab. Today we learned about sergers and students practiced using them...

Imagination!!

In FACS we have been learning about Child Development. Today was Imagination Day. I had students draw an imaginary creature then they partnered up. They had to verbally describe their creature to their partner to draw... it was interesting to see the results.
